You've obviously been convinced by the theory. Many 'experts' have disagreed. In particular there was the Wistar Symposium of 1966, 'Mathematical Challenges to the Neo-Darwinian Interpretation of Evolution'. There the mathematicians explained to the biologists that there simply hadn't been enough time for life as we know it to have evolved in the way the theory suggested. The odds against were astronomical.

The biologists just didn't get it, however, and stubbornly persisted.
