Yes. Alternatively it might show the attempt by Christians to deny polytheism. I have actually seen an edition of the Bible where the translators/editors admitted that they knew Elohim is plural but translated it as God because Christianity is a monotheistic tradition, (therefore to help Christians feel comfortable?).
That isn't what I personally believe, however. I think some corruption has occurred during the history of the text. I think that Elohim refers to what the Hindus call Brahman, and what Kabbalists call Ayin.
