This conversation obviously isn’t going to get very far, given your starting position. I accept that Hume was an important figure in his day (as was Kant who was a giant), but it was a long time ago, and much has happened scientifically and philosophically since then.
Highly important later philosophers, such as Bergson and Whitehead, who are closer to the mark, tend to be neglected because there is an ‘Establishment’ viewpoint. And currently we have Bernardo Kastrup.
Keep on teaching Hume and Kant if you wish.
