These are complicated issues. I'm something of an amateur, non-specialist, but I would say that it is not vision and touch themselves that are illusions. It is what we are seeing and touching. We may think we are touching a solid table, chair. These physicists will tell you, however, that these are merely patterns of energy, and that atoms are 'composed' mainly of empty space. So the illusion is how we interpret what we see and touch.
