The fine tuning is indeed an interesting question. Materialists try various ruses to wriggle out of it. As you say, my assumption of a transcendent pre-existing consciousness/spirit offers the simplest solution, even if it is not correct.

Thanks for the link. I don't have much time to read stuff like this, but I have noted it. On panpsychism, my position is that it is going in the right direction, in that it moves away from materialism. But it is only a half-way house on the journey to idealism. In the case of Philip Goff (Galileo's Error), for example, it is merely a logical, philosophical argument because he sees no solution to the Hard Problem of Consciousness. I did write an article about that some time ago; I can send you a link if you like.
