“the distinction between Israelite & Judaism is that the former refers to an ancient Hebrew tribal people & the latter is of course a Religion”.

That is the conventional historical understanding, and probably what Judaism wants us to believe, but Salibi's analysis comes up with something different, based upon the Gospel texts themselves. That Judaism was not Jesus's religion is precisely what he is arguing, and he seems reasonably convincing to me. You haven't addressed anything he says in your replies so far. (Of course, I don't have his training in etymology and philology, so can't judge whether there are any flaws in his Bible-comes-from-Arabia theory. What he says sounds reasonable, however.)

I agree with you about Yahweh and other gods in the OT, but these are probably archaic remnants, different from the later monotheistic cult of Yahweh (Yahwism) which is at the core of Judaism. Even if there were examples of a dying and resurrected god in Mesopotamian mythology (I don't know, they seem to be stronger in the Greek tradition), that would not be true of the later Yahwism, unless you have evidence to the contrary.
