That's an interesting tribe. I don't think that is typical. The Hopis have a very spiritual tradition, which seems impressive. There are others.

The best known work on evidence for reincarnation is by Ian Stevenson. He wrote two books: Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation, and Where Reincarnation and Biology Intersect. They are about as scientific as it's possible to be, given the difficulties of the subject matter.
