That is a good psychological analysis of the text. However, it is based on the assumption that Adam and Eve were the first humans. This is probably a too literal interpretation of the text, made possible by some mistranslations of the Hebrew in some editions of the Bible. Adam is not 'humankind', more likely a spiritual being, the fall of whom is the descent into the material world. You yourself call it an “expulsion from paradise”.
