Thanks very much for taking the time to make two such considered responses. We obviously have our points of disagreement. Hopefully the discussions will lead to greater clarity at some point. All these ancient sayings are open to different interpretations. And are words put into the mouth of Jesus authentic anyway? We all know that the sayings in John’s Gospel can’t be found in any of the others.

Evolution is indeed a suitable tool for God to manifest itself. As long as that’s how it’s understood, creatively, not Nature the Blind Watchmaker, a theory to deny God’s existence.
