Davies is great. He admits that he wants to stick to naturalistic explanations, but is very happy to concede that this sometimes leaves some massive gaps, and great mysteries. He is therefore a very open and honest scientist. I especially like The Cosmic Blueprint.
I haven't read Goff's recent work, only Galileo's Error. There he is not advocating anything overtly spiritual or mystical, merely saying that panpsychism seems logically to be the only way out of (what he perceives to be) the failings of materialism and dualism.
