Thanks for the compliment about my patience. You very politely don't say who you are referring to, although I can hazard a guess.

I don't always spend that much time. I sometimes merely clap, just one or two, in order hopefully to close the discussion. That's when the response is either hostile, or incoherent, sometimes to the extent that I can't see what the point is in relation to my article. But provided that the person is polite and sincere, I am willing to spend some time with them. There is always the possibility that others like yourself may read such threads, and therefore I reach out to others. There is also the more remote possibility that I might say something which gets through to them.
