I disagree with you that my article was ad hominem. I apologise if you feel I'm not representing your views. However, the article was intended to be a comment on Cosmicism in general, inspired by, and as outlined in Sender Spike's article. I mentioned you because I noticed that you had already started a discussion with him. As you say, it's hard to get a total picture of your position, so I wasn't intending to criticise you specifically.
Only you can know how you arrived at your views. So I can't make any comments about your own upbringing, and it wasn't my intention to do so. However, I do think that it's important to have a general understanding of the underlying psychology which in general might lead someone to adopt a certain worldview. In my opinion, Vitz does a good job on that score. The cases he describes don't seem to have reached the level of objectivity you describe, and perhaps haven't even tried.
