Regarding "spiritual perspective", the Third Way website in relation to Creationism says: “That is clearly unscientific because it brings an arbitrary supernatural force into the evolution process”. Now I'm obviously not a Christian Creationist, but this expresses the point well. For something to be scientific, it has to omit anything supernatural from the argument. According to a spiritual perspective, however, the physical world, which includes the evolutionary process, is a manifestation of other 'higher' levels, emerging from them. If they are indeed 'higher', then I would call them supernatural.

Scientists are of course correct in not taking these other levels into account when they do their work, since they are invisible, and cannot be controlled experimentally. When they claim that their results give a complete picture of reality, however, is when I feel the need to complain.

Their conclusions are based purely on what is observable in the material world. As the Buddhists might say, they haven't seen through the illusion of maya.
