Passionate article. A few points:

God is there, but not necessarily as understood by Christians. There are many other understandings from different traditions. Rejecting Christianity does not have to mean rejecting God. Many people consider themselves ‘spiritual but not religious’.

Christianity is indeed a problem. And some Christians are trying to fix it. Are you aware of Why Christianity Must Change or Die, by John Shelby Spong? (He is a bishop.)

A church is not necessarily the best place to find Jesus or God (although it seems to work for some people). The depths of your own nature may be a better place to look.
