It’s not that the beings that God created didn’t have free will. They clearly did since he recognised the possibility of their choosing to eat of the tree, and told them not to do it. As I suggested, he knew they wouldn’t like it. It’s therefore perfectly reasonable to say that God is not implicated or responsible because they disobeyed him. However, this doesn’t resolve the question of how the possibility of that choice originated.
