I'm not sure what the 'overwhelming evidence' is about the brain that you refer to.

On the contrary, neuroscientists have been completely incapable of explaining how the brain 'creates' consciousness. This led the philosopher Philip Goff to write Galileo's Error.

I'm guessing that any 'evidence' is produced by scientists who strongly believe in advance what you are saying here. They can therefore hardly be considered objective, and probably ignore any evidence which contradicts their assumptions.
