I'm not sure by meditation whether you mean inward seeking or (mental) reflection. I guess the former.

I would have assumed that Vedic philosophy would have something to say beyond symbols. As I understand it, the prominent spiritual traditions, including Hinduism, conceive the universe as a hierarchy of levels along the lines of a Great Chain of Being. Each lower level is denser than the one above, so that the highest level is pure consciousness, and the lowest level is what we perceive as matter even though it is actually a manifestation of consciousness. This is therefore a process of progressive densification, in which the material level emerges from the level immediately above, which might be called the astral. This seems to be confirmed by quantum physics, although the terminology is different – quantum fields and so on.

If all that is true, then superficially at least that seems to contradict Big Bang theory. Do you have any thoughts?
