If there is nothing hidden in the message of Christianity, why did Jesus say that he spoke in parables so that he would not be understood, and told the true meaning to his apostles in private? In that context he frequently refers to the Mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven. Would that not be hidden knowledge, along the lines of Gnosticism?
