I think that Wilson was referring to the views of the men of the 20th century, as the full quote stated. I hope and assume he didn't agree with it.

I haven't read as much of Wilson I would like. I've focussed on the more 'spiritual' books, The Occult and Mysteries.

I'm a fan of Lachman and have attended live and Zoom talks by him, even one about Wilson. So I'm aware of Wilson's earlier works, but would like to find more time to study his thinking about the Outsider and the New Existentialism.
