I think that humanity is probably not unique but reasonably important. Humanity is the prime mover for the evolution of consciousness on this planet.

I'm also into Martial Arts. The classical Japanese masters believed that the arts were for the benefit of humanity. As you say, the discipline and etiquette are insisted upon.
