I made a connection between Genesis and the Taoist symbol (thus the I Ching) in this article:

I received one response which included: “I don't think your association of the light and darkness of Genesis with the yin-yang is a stretch at all. That particular detail also occurred to me independently. Both seem to be describing the first step of creation which is a separation of Unity into Duality -- and then from the two come the many by the complex interplay of opposing forces”.
