I couldn't agree more. There are indeed many paths up the mountain, an idea which is expressed well by what is known as the Perennial Philosophy. You mention Ekhart, and you could also have mentioned Boehme in similar vein. They are hardly mainstream Christians, however, and I don't think they were popular with their traditions in their own time; they were both considered heretics.

It is mainstream Christianity that I argue against in my articles. The path within Christianity is much more narrow than in the Eastern traditions, where the teaching is apparently available to anyone. You have indeed been very fortunate.
