Hi Ted. Thanks for the response.

When you said ‘overwhelming evidence’, I assumed you were referring to published scientific papers, so thanks for clearing that up. The examples that you give do suggest the conclusion you draw, but I think we may have to look even deeper into the question to get to the whole truth. As I said, no neuroscientist has managed to explain how the brain produces consciousness. I would say, because it doesn’t.

The brain certainly has some role, the obvious question being exactly what that is, and I believe that modern scientists overestimate it. I’m afraid that I fall closer to the brain-as-radio-receiver position, even though arguments can be made against it, as you do. I call this the Transmission Model, namely that the brain acts as a filter to limit consciousness.

I have been writing some articles about this recently, but I’m afraid they speak from the perspective of believing in a soul, so they would probably not interest you.
