Not sure that Auerbach is quite right about poltergeists. What you say would seem to be true in some examples, but other cases seem to be more complicated, involving spirits etc.

One possible example is the famous Enfield haunting. Sky did a drama of it. More reliable is a book by Guy Lyon Playfair, who was actually involved in the investigation. Definitely worth a read if you're interested in these things. You can easily find out about it on the internet.
