Don't completely agree with you that meaning can only be personal, although any meaning will obviously be as perceived by one individual consciousness. The meaning of the whole cosmic enchilada might therefore only be apparent to mind-at-large, the Ultimate Source.

As I perceive it, the task of humans is to try, as far as is possible, to tune in to what that might be, and seek to implement the 'divine' will. By discovering and implementing one's own personal meaning, one will surely be participating in the grand overall project.
