Hi. Great stuff, and well said. However, it's interesting that some aspects of your suggestions for “a few key tenets of the faith that you must hold to” are still arguably controversial. For example, is God really He? Or is that just something we've been told by an “ancient Jewish manuscript written in a completely different culture, time and context to my own”, which we still hang on to.

In any case, the things you suggest do not, on the whole, feature in the various creeds that the Church has come up with to say what is essential. So you're already differing from them about what's most important.

I would say that it's possible to at least make a case against just about everything in the official creeds, but I wouldn't want anyone else to tell me that I'm not a Christian because of that.
