Hi Gerald. Thanks for that.

The resurgence of Gnosticism is what I'm seeking. After all conventional 'Christianity', which I would argue is the creation of the Roman Catholic Church, and may or may not have anything to do with the original Jesus, viciously suppressed Gnosticism in its own interests.

Regarding panentheism, it depends on what you understand to be “orthodox Christianity”. As I'm sure you know, it means that God is both immanent and transcendent. I assume that some Christians believe that if God 'created' the universe, then they are in some sense of different natures, spirit and matter. This would not be panentheism, but other Christians may see things differently.

Regarding your last comment. 'blindness' and 'dogmatism' are putting what I said a bit strongly. I was only suggesting that one must not rush too hastily to accept ideas merely because they appear to confirm one's beliefs. That is what I believe you did in your Big Bang article. If I may be honest, it's as if you merely copied out uncritically the story from a conventional science book, precisely because it appears to support the Christian belief in 'creation'.

As you have said before, your main interest is in the truth above all else. I believe you, and if that is true, then I think that you will have to allow some of your Christian beliefs to be seriously challenged, which may prove uncomfortable for you. For what it's worth I am also a sort of Christian, albeit one that the Church might not recognise and consider heretical. I consider myself to be a Gnostic Christian without any firm beliefs.

Best wishes.
