Hi Gerald,

'Will' and 'intention' in relation to the ultimate Creator do up to a point suggest the possibility of a personal God, although it's possible that some anthropomorphism is creeping in here. But I don't want to get into that.

For a Christian, however, there is much more to the concept of a a personal God. It is a god to whom one can pray, and who might answer prayers. Christians also set great store by the Old Testament, the supposed Word of God, where they say the coming of Jesus was prophesied. Another Christian on Medium tells me that he finds great coherence and consistency in the Bible, Old and New Testaments together.

As a Christian, you therefore have to take much more into account than the creator of the universe that you are talking about. If you're including the Old Testament in your beliefs, then you have to take into account that your 'personal God' is a jealous god, who wants you to worship no other gods before him even though, according to the monotheistic tradition, there aren't any. This is a god who forbids killing absolutely, yet sanctions mass killing, as long as his chosen people are the ones doing it. Need I go on?

So I suppose my point would be, you don't need to go to Christianity to explain the subject matter you're dealing with. All the other spiritual traditions do an equally good job.
