We're treading some familiar ground here. I'd be grateful if you could clarify some points:
“many hundreds of them had actually seen Jesus with their own eyes”. What is Keller referring to here? I thought that in the gospels Jesus revealed himself only to a select few of his followers.
Along similar lines, “thousands of Jews virtually overnight worshiping a human being as divine”. What does “virtually overnight” mean exactly? And what would be the evidence for “thousands of Jews”? Is Keller perhaps prone to some exaggeration here?
The “billions” who believe later obviously have no direct experience but have been told that it is true, and find the idea appealing.
It doesn't prove anything, but I've had several congratulatory responses, (and one dismissive one).
