Hi Dan. You ask interesting questions. I find some problems with your approach, however.

Your argument is very Judaism/Christianity based. This is not a great place to start. Christianity, in its various manifestations, has become very confused, especially when it looks upon God as masculine. Why not start with Taoism, Hinduism, Buddhism, for example?

The ‘God’ which is everywhere and ‘who holds all of creation together’, is not a ‘he’, rather an impersonal spirit, if you like androgynous, but actually beyond male and female.

And in answer to your main question, if it were easy to see God everywhere, then everyone would see God, and atheism and its variations would be impossible. I would say that humans do not see God directly, but the influence of God [supernatural intelligence] is everywhere to be seen.
