Hi again.
As I understand it, the hard problem is not where qualia come from, rather that no one can understand how the brain achieves this. That's why it's a problem for materialism. All materialism can do is say, like you do, that we will be able to understand this at some undefined point in the future. That's based on an assumption that materialism is in fact true. But it may not be. The other side of the argument says that the hard problem can never be solved because it makes the false assumption that the brain causes qualia/consciousness. That's why some scientists and philosophers are turning to panpsychism and idealism as ways out of this difficulty.
Given your starting point, you then make another assumption, that the ability to produce qualia is something we have acquired through the evolutionary journey. There is no actual scientific evidence for this, but is an assumption that materialists are forced to make.
It's disappointing to hear that Italy seems immune to paranormal and psychic experiences. I would also once have dismissed them, until they started happening to me. Perhaps you're not ready yet. Open your mind to the possibility, and see what happens.
