Good points. However, Aristotle was a long time ago, and much water has passed under the bridge since then, so the position is much clearer. Big Bang is much more recent, less than a hundred years, so perhaps we have not yet had enough time to gain the necessary historical perspective. Especially when there remain several/many Big Bang dissidents among the professionals, enough dissidents for there to be in 2005 a conference in Portugal, where the consensus was that data was being misinterpreted/fixed in order to retain the theory.
