However, faith is a slippery word. Materialists take it to mean belief based upon no evidence, therefore foolish. My atheists call my beliefs ‘faith’, but they are based on my actual experiences, which unfortunately cannot be proved to the standards of the scientific method. If we are going to engage in debate with such people, we therefore have to come up with arguments better than faith.
