For a start, the EU’s purpose is to get rid of democracy and national sovereignty, so that the opinions of ordinary citizens count for nothing. This desire is shared by the British government, which is why they were so horrified when we voted to leave. Remainers, whether they know this consciously or not, are signing up to it.
