Do you have any evidence that Allegro, as you suggest, took psychedelics? I thought that his (unlikely) theory was based upon his reading of the Dead Sea Scrolls. He was a brilliant scholar, as you say very much legit, hence his inclusion in the team. I think I own a copy of a biography by his daughter. Might it be in there?
