I came across a similar quote recently. Quantum physicist Werner Heisenberg: “The first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you”.
A small point. You use the word 'theism', which is often taken to mean a 'personal God', as opposed to the 'God of the philosophers', i.e. an impersonal ultimate principle. Most of your argument seems to focus on the latter, however. Some might therefore question your choice of the term theism.
